Christmas on Myrtle Street

Nate and I had a leisurely Christmas morning this year, reminding ourselves that this is our last Christmas where it will just be the two of us.  So, we slept in (7:30 for us...wow) and actually had eggs (it has been months since we cooked eggs...having no working kitchen and all) and even a mimosa (mine was almost all O.J....no worries).  We spent most of the afternoon with the Turpins since Mom was with her mother in Vicksburg.  We caught up with Mom that evening and then the next day had a big family gathering at her house.  In the middle of all the Christmas madness was the joyous event of Silas Luckett's baptism, and I gained a new godson.

Sirius was sad that Santa didn't leave him anything...

This is one of the two awesome highchairs we got for the twins....We LOVE Ikea and the Lucketts for picking them up for us in Atlanta!  We also got our cribs there for a steal.  Got to be frugal when it comes to getting ready for TWO.

Sweet baby Caroline...she just sleeps and sleeps right now.

The twins got lots of fun stuff already this Christmas.  Next year will be wild.  (Notice the Olivia book...that is my favorite.  The twin's Aunt Leelee knew just what to get. )

Whit got Spiderman skates, and Nate got an appropriately captioned Cracker tee.

I'm a proud godmother!

Yey-Kristi was in town this year!

Almost all the cousins....we need the Aull boys to be a complete group.  But we had a great time catching up.

Lots of Preggers...

his was the last day that we would all be pregnant together; Madelyn's baby Thacker is coming in January, and Leahbeth gave birth the very next day.  So fun.

Miss Myrtle Gets Dressed for Christmas

To make life easier and show off my garage sale score, this year Nate and I decided to forgo the live Christmas tree.  Instead, we put up a white tree I bought for fifteen bucks!  I love it and- no mess, which is nice since the kitchen is still a work in progress.   Here's a few pics to show off my find...(that was a fun garage sale morning with Christine, Joy and Nina...) Oh, and I also want to show off my Christmas stockings; they were my first "twin" purchase.  It felt surreal saying, "This can be my stocking, this is Nate's, and these can be for the twins."  What?

Baby Caroline's Arrival!

What a very busy week the Ballard-Alford-Turpin family has had.   First up, and the most exciting, is the arrival of Baby Caroline Turpin.  We had an exciting day.   Nate and I had Whit for the week, and that was a fun experience.  He is the greatest kid on the earth, and we loved every minute of his stay; his visit made me realize..."wow, life is going to be different."  Whit's stay and Caroline's birth only reinforces how ready Nate and I are for our family to grow.  We can do this!  :)

A few days later was the big visit with Dr. Lori to find out what we are having....and in case you have not heard...we get one of each:  a boy and a girl!   Nate and I are so excited by this news, and we are ready to start getting the room and house ready.  Time to shop...that is something I KNOW I can do.  I feel so blessed right now.   They are worth the wait...

big brother whit was super excited about his baby turtle (that is what he calls caroline)
